The staff was nice
This is not really a hotel, but a backpacker-style hostel priced like a hotel. Most rooms have no real external window, a crucial fact that was not made clear on Booking.com. In our room, what appears to be a window actually opens onto a wall, with the air-conditioning compressor mounted directly outside. The resulting noise was extremely disturbing. The towels provided are another indication of the standard: instead of normal bath towels, guests receive tiny towels approximately the size of face towels. Breakfast is equally misleading. You are given basic ingredients such as eggs and milk, but must cook your own breakfast and then wash your own plates, cups and utensils. We have travelled extensively and have never encountered this in a property marketed and priced as a hotel. The staff are friendly, but that does not compensate for the lack of transparency. There is nothing wrong with running a hostel β but it should be described honestly and priced accordingly. Future guests should know exactly what they are booking. At the price we paid, this was extremely poor value and a very disappointing experience.
