Sieht von aussen gut aus, auch im Eingangsbereich hochwertigen Eindruck. Zudem ist die Rezeption 24/7 besetzt. Auch ist es ein richtiges Hotel inkl. eigenem Restaurant mit Frühstücksbuffet - ganz entgegen dem Trend, dass viele Budapester "Hotels" umfunktionierte Wohngebäude sind. Die Lage Astoria ist ziemlich gut, der Flughafentransit-Bus E100 hält abends vor Hotel. Personal professionell, aber aufgrund Grösse des Hotels auch etwas unpersönlich. Das Zimmer war ziemlich gross und hatte viel Stauraum.
Ich habe das Hotel als Notlösung gebucht, da mein Rückflug spätabends annuliert wurde - glücklicherweise hatte es noch ein einziges Zimmer übrig, welches ich spontan buchen konnte. Der gute Eindruck der Hotellobby verflog aber rasch; Kanalgasgeruch im gesamten Gebäude inkl. Zimmer, nicht wirklich sauber, Store klemmte, Duschtüre ging nicht ganz zu, Schimmel an Kitfugen bei Dusche, Badlüfter ging nicht und beim Frühstücksbuffet ungeniessbare Säfte/Kaffee aus Getränkespendern wie in Fastfood-Betrieb - alles kleine Details, die aber für ein Hotel in dieser Preisklasse aus meiner Sicht unverzeihbar sind. Das Hotel wirkt so, als wäre es vor 15-20 Jahren eine tolle Adresse gewesen, seither aber im Unterhalt vernachlässigt worden - mit wenig Aufwand könnte die Gästeerfahrung deutlich verbessert werden.
