“nice architecture, but poor staff's problem solving”

I would like to raise a concern regarding how a very minor incident during my stay was handled. There was an accidental menstrual stain of approximately 1 cm on the bedsheet and mattress. I understand that stains may require cleaning, but I was surprised to be told that this was considered “damage” and that I would be charged IDR 500,000, with the explanation that the mattress needed special cleaning and the room had to be closed. I found this response highly disproportionate, especially from a 5-star hotel. I eventually cleaned the mattress myself with warm water and tissue, and the stain was completely removed. I also asked the bedsheet to be returned to me for cleaning, but they didnt returned it. What disappointed me most was the lack of communication and the tone of the staff, which felt rather accusatory, as though I had caused a significant inconvenience. There was also no prior discussion or clear information regarding the IDR 500,000 charge. I believe the charge is excessive for such a small and completely removable stain, and I expected a more considerate staffs approach from a 5-star hotel. Thank you.
Schitterend art deco gebouw uit de koloniale tijd met een rijke historie. Zeer attent personeel, dat zelfs onthoudt hoeveel minuten je je eitje gekookt wilt hebben. Een geweldige ervaring om in dit hotel te verblijven.
Het wellness centrum kon beter. De sauna werd niet warmer dat 70 graden en het Turks stoombad en bubbelbad waren buiten werking.

The accommodation is beautiful, the breakfast is delicious, and the swimming pool is great. The staff is very friendly, and they were even incredibly thoughtful since we only stayed for one night. It was my boyfriend's birthday, and they decorated the bed with rose petals and brought a slice of birthday cake to our room. It was a very nice gesture that made our stay extra special. Thank you so much for the hospitality.
