“Good accomodation but staff need some customer service training.”
Great location and good rooms.
When we checked in we were told room 608. The keys wouldn’t open 608 but the writing on the key card looked like 605. I tried 605 which it opened. We then made ourselves comfortable. I then had staff come up asking for ID and saying I was in the wrong room. After explaining she said we could stay but then came up again questioning how we’d got access. We were again told we could stay. At 12.20am we were evacuated with the fire alarm. There was no direction from staff. After 15 minutes the fire services said we could return to our rooms. Again nothing from staff and I don’t remember seeing a staff member.

I was given a room upgrade to a large self contained apartment. The young ladies who served me at reception were very nice.
I was woken by a fire alarm that went out and had to evacuate. Their was no one from reception to tell us what was going on. I paid for breakfast, it cost $35. Honestly, it wasn't bad, but I think it's pricey for the money. That sort of money at a good cafe would get you eggs Benedict and a cappuccino.

Great location, easy check in/out. Comfortable bed, clean room, good TV and wifi. Breakfast also good.
The 12am evacuation alarm. I’ve stayed at Mantra on Northbourne three times, once per year, and twice been evacuated. I’m not sure if it happens regularly or if it’s just coincidental. While I understand that alarms happen there should be a breakfast or future stay discount offered. To get up at midnight get dressed and make your way down 8 flights is a little inconvenient. I love staying at the Mantra, but I also love a peaceful sleep. Will be looking elsewhere next year.
