The hotel was nice but certainly not four stars, the bedroom was very spacious and the hotel was spotless and clean.
For a four star hotel it is not what I would expect. I speak from a professional point of view having spent many years in hospitality and we were the owners of our own hotel in the UK. As I have said the room was very spacious but in September at night it can get cold in Zagreb the bedroom was very cold and I didn't sleep well because of this, when I brought it up at reception they told me they would switch off the air conditioning, no difference the next night still cold after bringing this up again at reception, I was told the hotel did not have any heating at that time of year which maybe ok if you live in a cold climate but I now live in Cyprus, I was then given a portable radiator style heater and on switching it on in the room it tripped all the electrical sockets, after having that fixed very quickly by hotel maintenance I had a more comfortable night. Also in the bedroom there was an electric kettle, coffee sachets 3 in 1 not nice and a selection of fruit tea but no English tea or milk obviously not catering for UK guests. In the breakfast restaurant there was English breakfast tea and milk and it was a buffet style breakfast with a reasonable selection of hot and cold breakfast, I opted for the hot breakfast which was barely warm never mind hot. If you are a smoker this hotel is not for you, you have to smoke in the street, although they did have a terrace bar where you could sit and smoke but the terrace again is on the street so there was no dedicated smoking area, and they don't open the terrace bar at the first sign of rain. The hotel is ideally located for sight seeing as it sits right on the main square so great location. This is my honest opinion of the hotel from a professional point of view it was not for me but maybe fine for other people everyone is different.
