“Hard to better the location in Menaggio”
Don't be put off by the poor reviews. The hotel probably has the best location in Menaggio just 2 mins walk from the ferry port and the same from the cafes of the main town square. Our room was spotlessly clean and the hotel appears very well looked after. Room had a kettle, safe, fridge and very effective air con which was welcome when outside temperature exceeded 35! We paid extra for a balcony and lake view and whilst I dont think it was particularly good value I think Lake Como is just generally quite an expensive place to stay, so when in Como and all that !!! View was spectacular across to Varenna and Bellagio and balcony was a wonderful spot to enjoy breakfast or an aperitivo so definitelyglad we upgraded. Swimming pool was again well maintained and we always managed to get loungers despite it being small. Such a treat to have a dip after a hot day's sightseeing. Staff were helpful and told us how and where to get bus tickets to Luggano for shopping. We did have a couple of issues - the beds weren't made when we arrived but the lady on reception was very apologetic and did it straight away and we had an evening without any cold water in the bathroom so we couldn't take a shower or flush the toilet. This was rectified the following morning and thankfully didn't happen again. So in summary the hotel provided everything we needed and we really enjoyed our stay. It is 3 star and if you want 5 star accommodation there are other options in town - but they cost 5 times the price!
“Wonderful”
A very grand feeling hotel. Menaggio is all about the ferries and Hotel Bellavista is 2 mins walk away. The view from the balcony is of both Varenna and Bellagio, with snow capped mountains behind. The pool was a real treat for a lakeside hotel. Lovely staff. A very memorable stay.
“Past Due on a Remodel”
This place is in need of a serious remodel. Tiny room, hard bed and the AC only worked sometimes. The bathroom was nearly inoperable. I’m 5’1” and had to duck for a shower, with water going everywhere. It also didn’t drain The hallway, eek! The location is picture perfect with a lovely balcony view. But don’t expect to sit by the pool and enjoy a cocktail, that’s not allowed. Also the pool closes at 6:30 so no down time after walking all day. Overall a beautiful location but needs a lot of work.

Vue magnifique sur le lac, chambre confortable avec une bonne literie, personnel accueillant, restaurant cher mais de super bonne qualité. Pour terminer, les liaisons en bateau entre les villages sont un vrai plus.
L'insonorisation des chambres n'est malheureusement pas suffisante et donc, je vous conseille de prendre des boules quies. Le restaurant est magnifiquement situé le long du lac mais malheureusement non chauffé en automne et nous avions donc froid.
