The rooms are decorated beautifully, with muted, natural colours and grey furniture. I appreciated the thoughtful design touches, including the Paul Smith lamp, the Molton Brown beauty products and the thick, heavy towels (four of them, even though I was travelling alone). I requested a quiet room, and they took that request seriously. My room was blissfully quiet, and I could even switch off the air conditioning. I slept so deeply and so well, which was a genuine blessing. The room was spotlessly clean, and the added bonus of a small kitchenette was a fabulous bonus. The location is a fifteen-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street Station and surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops. Security wasn't just a line on the features page, either: the Security Guard asked for our name and room number when we arrived late at night. Housekeeping was handled by Success, whose smile alone made my day, though her gentle manner and professionalism didn't go unnoticed either. Then there were Jess, Maria, Harry, and Algida at the front desk: warm, informative, unobtrusive, efficient, and knowledgeable. They have mastered the art of hospitality (and you've got to love a strong Liverpudlian accent!). I was also charmed by the little card left in my room, a gentle reminder that at The Resident you are a person, not just a booking number. I loved this place!
My only gripes are minor. There was a complete absence of lactose-free milk and decaffeinated coffee, though I always travel with my own decaf, so it wasn't too bad (just black coffee)😎. And, ironically, in my super-quiet room, one floorboard squeaked every time I walked on it, no matter how hard I tried to avoid it! It would also be nice to be able to turn off the light above the kitchenette sink and to have a USB-C plug, but now I'm just being picky. Otherwise, nothing to complain about.

The room was full of beds so it was difficult to move around it. I had beforehand asked for a large double, but got two twins and a put me up - so a family room? so completely ignored my request despite confirming they could accommodate it.
