I really appreciated being able to book at short notice and check in late, which was very helpful. The bed was comfortable, the room appeared tidy on arrival, and I appreciated the complimentary soap and shampoo. The main door also had a secure lock, security chain and peephole, which was reassuring.
When I went to fill the jug using the bathroom sink, as this was the only place available to fill it, I heard an awful noise and came out to investigate. I discovered water coming from inside the wall and cupboard area that housed the hot water cylinder, and it appeared to leak significantly whenever the bathroom sink tap was used. The water had run over the walls and onto the bench where the jug, microwave and toaster were located, as well as the area where the cutlery, cups, plates and bowls were kept. As the water was running past visible dust and mould, it did make me question how sanitary those items were. There were also stains on the blanket, although the sheets appeared clean. The shower was difficult to regulate to a comfortable temperature, the bathroom window would not close, and the air conditioning remote was sticky. I would also have appreciated a little more milk. The iron looked surprisingly old for a hotel, although to be fair, it actually worked very well.
