“Excellent room - hotel looks a bit run down.”
Nice room, clean and spacious. Very modern with a comfy bed. Lacks air-conditioning but had a fan on the wall. Excellent location for a short walk into the centre.
Poor parking, it is york so not many hotels actually have parking. But its like tetris getting cars in, if your car is large you will struggle. The building itself is a bit run down, looks like a cheap b&b on entering despite the room quality. Only one room key provided(an actual key). Lacks air con. The room price is high but it is possibly the time of year and location.

Builders were in when I was booked in with no prior notification. Far from being a relaxing stay at a ‘spa hotel’. I left early very upset at having my holiday ruined. Hall ways and shared areas were dated and in need of updating like the bedrooms. Single glazed windows with no secondary glazing meant I was woken up multiple times in the night by people out at the bins doing god knows what very noisily.

Loved the location, and the super friendly and helpful staff. The owner is charming and the whole team did theor best to make our stay comfort.
Our room was tiny, our fault for booking a standard room and not clocking the sqm size. I would definitely book a larger room next time. Just a tiny thing, the oven roasted tomatoes at breakfast could do with more roasting as they were raw in the middle. Other than that, the breakfast was lovely and it was extremely nice of the owner to arrange it for after our yoga session, this was much appreciated.
