“Staff seem desperate to provide the bare minimum and cut costs.”
The room was a generous size, the bathroom was particularly spacious. There was a large variety of food at breakfast. The staff spoke good English, one of the waiters was proactive in initiating conversation and providing service. The basics.
It was my second stay in the space of 3 days and the same receptionist who checked me in had no recollection of me. He asked if it was my first time at the hotel, which gave a very impersonal impression. I left laundry and it was lost when I enquired about it- eventually they found it but the receptionist seemed to have no clue of its whereabouts prior. The hotel should keep records of the location of items that guests leave with them. I pressed the button to have my room refreshed at midday, but returned at 4pm to an unrefreshed room- so I asked reception for a room refresh and was told “housekeeping have gone home”. There is no clear way of getting a fresh bed or fresh towels and the room tablet pushes you to not have housekeeping at all during your stay- what is the point of being in a hotel if you don’t clean the rooms?! Eventually the receptionist straightened by bed sheets (I could have done this myself) and gave some fresh towels. The wet towels were left on the floor and the bin was left full. I would have liked a clean bathroom and fresh sheets as I was there 3 nights. I requested different pillows as the ones they use are very soft and unsupportive. There are no other pillow options available. I went to breakfast and for 30 minutes the tables around me were not cleaned, the apple juice was empty. The staff were barely visible. There is an option to pay a small extra charge to order fresh eggs at breakfast, on top of the €26 breakfast cost or whatever you pay to have it included in your room rate. It should all be included- but to be honest there were no staff around to take an order so they might as well scrap the menu. The hotel is mostly very quiet however there was the sound of running water all night in the walls. The air conditioning was strong and not intuitive to control, the room was cold. The sofa might as well have been a park bench it was so uncomfortable and had a stain. There was very little to make me feel inclined to stay here again.

I received a room upgrade on this one night stay which was gratefully received. The room was a generous size, the bathroom was particularly spacious. The staff spoke good English, one of the waiters was proactive in initiating conversation and providing service.
The room was a bit dusty and the desk area was not cleaned properly. The towels felt cheap and not-luxurious.
