Hotel under construction, room smelled like mildew and cat pee. It was so bad I ended up leaving the hotel to find another place to sleep after being in the room for an hour to save my lungs. A safety hazard, would have given me tuberculosis.
“Active construction site”
The receptionist was friendly and understood why I walked out without much question and she did help me with my luggage down to my room.
The hotel is literally under construction—and not the kind where they just need to paint a few walls. I mean full construction: scaffolding holding up the roof, wires hanging from the ceiling, rubble everywhere, and walls half torn down. When the taxi dropped me off, I asked him repeatedly if he had the right place. The entire façade was raw concrete blocks, with a skip out the front and scaffolding all around. I thought it must be the hotel next to it, but no. I walked in and asked the receptionist, “Is this the hotel?” She said yes and proceeded to check me in. I was looking around in disbelief. I told myself, “It’s okay, it’s only for one night.” I got to my room and it was filthy. The bedsheets were stained. I looked outside my patio door and it was an active construction site. So I left. I think I spent about 15 minutes there at most. I’ve been to places like India, but I’ve never seen anywhere as bad as this.
I like the view from the lobby, and the convenience to the city.
The hotel is in a mess as it's on renovation. Pillow and mattress is badly stain.
