“Fabulous!”
This is our third day at the resort and it’s made a fabulous first impression! It may be one of the best hotels we have stayed at. My only gripe so far is the reservations of the Bali beds in the morning. People putting towels on them at 6.30am and not returning until 9.30am. It would be great if the hotel could allocate staff to actively discourage this by removing the items after an hour, but I believe the pool staff don’t start until 9am. There are plenty of normal beds available throughout the day. It’s so nice to be at a hotel who have more beds than guests. Other than that, everything is great so far!
“Our experience @ wave resort Aheloy”
We stayed over for 7 nights in Wave Resort, Room 5307. The overall experience was better than expected; the room was spacious and functional. The cleanliness of the room was good, except for the last two days when the cleanliness was less than satisfactory, and they forgot to refill the shower gel and shampoo. We went to the Ginger Restaurant; the quality of the sushis were very good, but We went to the Mediterranean Restaurant—outstanding service and very good cuisine. Our waiter was very friendly with the kids and the manager was very helpful. We tried the buffet, it was diverse and of good quality. We enjoyed the slides, the playgrounds, and the pools with the kids. We tried the spa everything was fonctionnal and perfectly working , my advise is maybe make it for +16, we had a multiple time kids splashing and guests were bothered. The animation team very friendly and helpfull, the kids club very well maintained and managed , we Also enjoyed the night shows and the beach party till 11pm were superb. “Idyllic relaxing holiday in beautiful Bulgaria”
We came here in 2022 and with a young family we all had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. So we thought we would go back and do it all over again. On arrival (~1.30 am due to delays at both airports) check-in was rapid and within 15 minutes we were eating at the all-night snack area, relieved to finally be on holiday. From 9pm - 7am there were various sandwiches, baguettes, ciabattas , cold meats etc along with fruit, deserts, doughnuts, cakes etc, not to mention a cold drinks machine, coffee machines and larger on draught (and in cans in the fridge. Ideal! The complex has everything on site that you could ask for, unless of course you want to venture out. Even then it is only a short bus/taxi ride to nearby Sunny beach, Pomorie and Nessebar. The main restaurant is sizeable, offering a wide array of dishes, ensuring that no-one goes hungry, and although the hotel appeared full, there were always tables available. The staff, it has to be said, do an excellent job turning tables around rapidly and keeping the restaurant looking smart and clean. They are also very friendly and appreciative of what I can only guess is the sadly underused phrase ‘thank you’. During the day there are numerous pools and slides to enjoy, not to mention a beautiful section of private beach. Unlike at many hotels, there always appears to be plenty of sun-beds available (both around the pools and on the beach), even after breakfast. As a family we tended to grab food from the pool-bar/amphitheatre during the day. This served food from ~12 - 4pm offering an array of convenient ‘grab and go’ food, from pizza, wraps, chicken wings kebabs etc to doughnuts, waffles, ice-creams, popcorn and fruit. Having two kids made this an easy option for lunch. The animation team are easy going, and if you’re keen; there is plenty to do. . . and if you’re not, they respectfully leave you in peace. The evening entertainment is worth a special mention. At 9.30pm there is a show of varying types. Unlike at other holiday resorts, this particular hotel team not only work their socks off, but are very clearly highly capable dancers and performers. . . if many of them did not previously attend a dance-school I would be amazed. They really are better than any animation team we have seen previously, providing enjoyable and impressive shows. A nice bonus was the air conditioned gym. Kitted out with good quality ‘technogym’ machines, that have been we-maintained and not neglected. Open from 8am - 8pm (although there is a side door that opens at 7am - which I only found on my last day 😭). This is a truly beautiful cosmopolitan hotel where there is so much going and so much to do. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone, whether they want to see the surrounding beauty of Bulgaria or just relax (like we did). My family and I look forward to coming back soon.
“Amazing hotel and staff”
Absolutely loved it here, just at the end of a 12 night stay and it's been superb. The location is quite isolated but it doesn't feel it as the hotel grounds are huge. There are several pools, including an indoor one, the main pool isn't heated but not that cold, the indoor pool is comfortable, the adult pool heated. The food is very varied, yes some dishes are repetitive but there is so much choice it really doesn't matter as there is something different to try every day and it's all great quality. The sea is quite rough and wavy but really quite pleasant if you don't mind being pushed about by the waves, there's a lot of seaweed though so be prepared to pick it off! The staff are all brilliant and nothing is too much for them to make sure your stay is really amazing. Special mention to Stefi on teen animation, she's brilliant and really helped our daughter enjoy the activities and made sure everyone was included no matter the language barrier or age difference.

Should you come here? The first question to answer is "Why Bulgaria? When I booked it was because the resort looked nice, it had good reviews and was really reasonably priced compared to similar high rated all inclusive resorts in the Canaries, Greece and Turkey. Now I have been you can add the people, the landscape and the Wave Resort Pomorie. We have just returned from 7 nights in this resort and if you are thinking about it do it! Location: It is not in the middle of a town but transport is available to Sunny Beach, Nessebar and Pomorie. We took a taxi into Nessebar which was priced fairly. Rooms: we were lucky to get one of the maisonette rooms with a full sea view, probably the best resort view I have ever had. The room is split over two floors, sleeps 5 and has two full balconies, three bathrooms and a living area. The rooms were clean and had more than enough space and storage for the four of us staying in it. Resort: Kept so nice and clean, more pools than you can properly use in 7 days. The Spa was lovely the fountains with their nightly show, a pretty touch and the beach accessible straight from the resort. Most people will want to know - There is no mad rush for sunbeds. Grab your breakfast, walk outside find some, all with umbrellas. We were never out there earlier than 8.30am and some days as late as 10am. Food and drink - cocktails all freshly made with an amazing choice at all 4 bars, Dewa in the lobby bar was in my view the best of the bar staff. Food - so much food! The food court for those daytime snacks and the main buffet with a stunning selection of all types of food, I would say something for everyone and we were never hungry. There are 3 a la carte restaurants on site but we never felt the need to use them. Entertainment - The evening Entertainment was either in the amphitheatre or live music in the beach bar. There were some stand out performances from Nik Michaels with his Elvis tribute and the Bulgarian Michael Buble -Ivailo Kolev. During the day the Animation Team offer activities for all ages. Our teen girls were spoken to by one of them on day one and loved joining in from that day forward, getting 3 teen girls away from books, phone sunbeds and a pool is a real achievement and for that reason we all agree that Steffi from the Animation team needs and award but to us Steffi is the best! Should you come here - Yes!!!!
