“Lovely place with accommodating staff and scenic view”
We originally booked Serene Villa 38 but were upgraded to the main Serene Villa, which was a very nice surprise. The room was beautiful and comfortable with a lovely classic-style design. Amazing balcony with a beautiful view overlooking the mountainous Kandy area. The pool area is also very scenic with a great view and relaxing atmosphere. There were no other guests during our stay so there was no breakfast buffet, but the staff brought us plenty of food with a nice variety of options and listened to our preferences. Staff was very nice, attentive and accommodating throughout our stay. The lift was undergoing maintenance at one point, which would have been difficult as we were on the fourth floor and my mother has arthritis, but they delayed the maintenance and allowed us to use it. Really appreciated them accommodating us like that. Room facilities were good overall. The property itself is very peaceful and relaxing. They accept cards before your stay, which was vital for me coming from Pakistan, as I have to show paid receipts of accommodation at the airport. We stayed for three days and had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Location is quite isolated and on a slope, with not much to do within walking distance. You will need a car or another form of transport to get around the main areas of Kandy. Hot water takes several minutes to arrive, so initially we thought there wasn't any. We had to ask the staff and learned that you need to leave the water running for quite a while before it becomes hot. There was also no breakfast buffet because we were the only guests, although the staff did compensate well by bringing us plenty of food directly.

Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, schon vor der Anreise war das Team super zu erreichen und hat uns hilfreiche Tipps für die Zugbuchung und Anreise gegeben. Da wir mit dem Zug aus Ella nur bis Nanu Oya fahren konnten, wurde uns ein komfortabler PKW Transfer exklusiv organisiert (zusätzliche Kosten). Das Zimmer bot einen tollen Blick über Kandy. Der Roof Top Pool im Hauptgebäude ist sehr sehenswert. Das Frühstück als Buffet bot viel Abwechslung inkl. individuell zubereiteter Eiervarianten. Normaler Nescafe (typisch Sri Lanka) ist inklusive - auf Wunsch gibt es Cappuccino & Co (kostet dann eine kleine Extrazahlung).
