The hotel is conveniently located close to the city center. However, there is currently major construction work taking place in the center, which makes walking around the area much less enjoyable. Of course, this is beyond the hotel’s control.
The main issue for us was the attitude of the staff. They were unfriendly and made little effort to help, even with very simple requests. For example, when we asked for a pen or pencil, they could not provide either. When we asked if there was somewhere we could sit at a table for just 30 minutes, we were told to look for a coworking space somewhere in the city. Overall, every request seemed to be treated as though we were asking for something completely unreasonable. The housekeeping was also disappointing. Empty water bottles next to the bed were left there for three or four days and were only removed after a large number of them had accumulated. Dirty dishes were not washed or returned to their proper place. The most unpleasant part was the condition of the bed. Whenever the fitted sheet shifted slightly, a large amount of other people’s hair was visible on the mattress. This was extremely unpleasant and raised serious concerns about the standard of cleanliness. The room was equipped with only the bare minimum. Even basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush, were available only upon request. That might be acceptable in itself, but from a well-known and fairly expensive hotel chain, we expected a much higher standard of service, cleanliness, and attention to guests.
