“Great location, but small rooms, and several cons for the price we paid!”
We had a lake facing view, which was lovely! We enjoyed ending our days sitting on the patio watching the sunset over the lake and castle. Great location, walkable to all the main tourist attractions, and several restaurants. My husband loved the breakfast spread and options. I loved that it was across the street from the vegan restaurant! The hotel definitely caters best to large tour groups.
The room itself was quite small, which made it hard to move about with our suitcases. I also didn't love that we couldn't turn on our patio light, so when it got dark, we had to retreat back inside the room, rather than staying outside to read. The staff also wasn't super helpful with providing options for how to do and see certain things. For example, when we were trying to get to Pokljuka they recommended a taxi (75eur), but we could have taken a bus for ~5eur each. Further, when we asked for various ways to get to the island, they only mentioned the traditional boat, but didn't offer that we could have rented a row boat or SUP a little further down the lake. Finally, as someone that travels with food allergies, breakfast wasn't labeled very well. It wasn't clear what certain foods were, or what allergens they contained. This made it difficult to navigate.

Room was spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool was lovely especially on a rainy day. The breakfast was varied and plenty of everything you could want. The buffet dinner was nice but not fantastic, but it was perfect for the day that we arrived. Staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean and well equiped. It was right by the lake and in the middle of the town, so a perfect location. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
Dinner buffet could have been nicer - fish was very dried out and some dishes were a bit cold.
