“Ruhiges, gediegenes und schön gelegenes Historisches Hotel ohne Rambazamba”
Sehr schönes, inmitten eines prächtigen Privatparks gelegenes Hotel mit historischer Bausubstanz, die insbesondere ältere britische Touristen anzieht. Geräumige Standartzimmer, ausgezeichnete Küche und ein herrliches und vielfältiges Frühstücksbuffet. Das Personal ist sehr professionell und herzlich. Grosser und schön angelegter Pool.
Die Verstauungsmöglichkeiten für die Kleider sind im Standartzimmer sehr beschränkt und das nicht mehr zeitgemässe Bad für ein Fünfsternhotel zu klein. Leider verfügt das Hauptrestaurant sowie das exklusive Restaurant im Manor House über keinen Aussenbereich, so dass das Frühstück und Nachtessen auch bei schönstem und heissem Wetter drinnen eingenommen werden muss. Bei Vollbelegung erweist sich das Restaurant als zu klein, weshalb die Gäste beim Frühstück teilweise lange Wartezeiten in Kauf nehmen müssen, bis sie einen freien Tisch erhalten. Das Shuttleangebot nach Funchal ist relativ mager, indem nur ca. alle zwei Stunden ein Kleinbus fährt, der jeweils rasch ausgebucht ist und am Wochenende nicht fährt. Somit muss trotz Shuttle oftmals ein Taxi gebucht werden.
