Dirty. Mold in bathroom. Odor. Room was on fort floor next to meeting room. View from room included window of an alley with graffiti. The front desk clerk had said he placed us in an upgraded room. Wonder what original room looked like. Maybe a broom closet. This is the second time using booking.com in Italy. Will never use again!! Hotels seem to give you 2nd rate room because you booked with third party. Carnival Palace was not a 4 star hotel! I have photos of dirt and mold and would be happy to post them. Staying at this hotel ruined my stay in Venice. Breakfast was average.
Nice location for the visit of Venice close to the train station and to the water bus. My parents enjoyed their room it was clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast too good value.
We arrived to our room and it smelled like the sewers and the sink was blocked. My parents room that was on the same floor and just two rooms ahead in the corridor didn't have any smell. The staff claimed there were no other rooms available for the night and attempted to clear the blockage and get rid of the smell and they managed to unblock the sink but the smell stayed. Given we were only in Venice for one night we decided to stay but it really ruined our experience. The staff did waive some fees for us to compensate which is appropriated but I hope they fix their issues. They claim it is related to the usual Venice tide issues but clearly not all rooms had this issue so it was a problem with the room. For the money they charge per night I expected better.

Teilweise veraltete Zimmereinrichtung, Klimaanlage in einem Raum ließ sich nicht verstellen und das Whirlpool hatte sxhon deutliche Verschleißerscheinungen.
