Great location near Kyoto station and a short walk from the river and the subway line that runs North-South from there for locations like Fushimi Inari. Room had all the expected amenities and was clean and comfortable. There was more on offer that we didn’t get to make use of (spring etc…) because of time constraints.

“Nice but busy, not my vibe.”
The onsen were great, load of facilities available, laundromat, free ice cream and yakult at specific hours. Massage chair if you're lucky enough to get to use one. Free ramen in the evening. I didn't partake in the breakfast because there were warnings about how busy it could get, but passing by it looked good. The staff was very kind and professional. As big as it is, there's a traditional vibe, and the room felt nice and quiet.
The pillows are rock hard. As a solo traveler I got a room with two seperate beds and no view (was right in front of another building) so I didn't get to enjoy any natural morning light or sights, which was a little depressing. The TV doesn't really have any smart functions so you can only watch local TV, which felt really outdated. It's also extremely busy and big. The elevators felt a little dirty. I got to book quite cheap as a deal right before silver week, but as a solo traveler I didn't really like this place. That's my own fault for not doing more research. I think it's better suited for groups of people.
