Location, history of the building well preserved. Rooms were good.
Rooms a little dark but expected due to age and furnishings matching the history of the hotel. Staff were a little unfriendly but dealt with queries efficiently.
“Beautiful hotel and friendly staff”
The architecture and history of the hotel were the primary reasons for my desire to stay there. The hotel was beautiful, located in a great area, and the staff was friendly. Our small balcony overlooked the courtyard, and the overall ambiance was very comfortable. I’m grateful for the stay and hope to return soon.
Our room had either a gas smell or perhaps the building’s plumbing had a smell. I’m not sure which it was, but it wasn’t uncomfortable enough to notify the staff or change rooms.
The hotel is a fantastic historic hotel with great rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, friendly and happy staff, and takes site security seriously! The attached bar and restaurant is also fantastic! The location is stellar, everything is easy to walk to and if not, the tram is a short walk away!
The location is excellent for visiting Petco Park and the Gaslamp District
The overnight parking charge is excessive
