The coffee machine at breakfast and the location was good. Disliked · The room smelt horrible, it wasn’t in to main building it was out the back. I booked 2 nights but couldn’t cope with staying there another night. The room with ensuite was smaller than my laundry. There was a dog that was barking a lot. The free wifi didn’t work, probably because it was so far from the property.
“Enjoyable stay for the price”
Walking in you feel like you've stepped back in time with the carpet style, architecture, and decor. We had the budget room, the bed was comfy and breakfast was good too with cereal, toast, juice, coffee and tea all available. The receptionist was lovely, allowing my husband to stay in our room till 12 and allowing him to stay in the dining area until I finished work at 2 as he didn't want to go out all day (travelled 4 hours for training hence the stay here and he wanted to come). The dining area also had a vending machine with little snacks and stuff. The location was quiet and surrounded by old buildings and across the road from a park with a playground and walking paths. It is also very close to food. Free parking so close to the city is a huge bonus.
The budget bathroom had exactly what was needed which was a shower, toilet and sink however the wall tiles under the sink had fallen off as well as some general old building problems like cracks in the walls. It just let down the presentation a bit. The showerhead was a bit short and quite small as well. The hot water also takes a REALLY long time to come through, I genuinely thought we didn't have any for a second then it started warming up. Our window flyscreen was broken too so we had to have the window shut to not let in bugs or whatever else can come flying through a window. It's also not a very accessible building as most of the rooms are upstairs and the entrances to the building have stairs too. The tv is placed quite high for such a small screen. I recommend bringing something you can watch streaming on if you're not a fan of free to air tv as it's not a smart tv either.
