Everything about the hotel was amazing. Although it is not within easy walking distance to shops, the Tuk Tuks are readily available and cost 1000 rupee (about £2.50) to Marissa beach, less that ten mins away. I loved that at 6pm, day old baby trutles were released into the sea, collected from the on site hatchery.
The local beach had a fair amount of rubbish, but not directly in front of the hotel, implying that hotel staff keep it clear. The red flag was on display while I was there for two nights, but safe to swim in the sea further along the beach.
