I liked the incredible landscaping, the unexpected size and spaciousness of the property. I found the entrance unprepossessing and the rooms ascetic. The location is great. The breakfast was very satisfying.
There was a bad smell in the bathroom that persisted even though I flushed it repeatedly. It was there from my first entrance to the room and I wandered if it was a sceptic tank. There is a lack of public spaces and the heat and humidity was oppressive at noon. It would have been nice to escape to an A/c bar. In the end I had to find an airconditioned coffee shop in town.. The service levels could have been better especially on processes such as check out. They wouldn't accept Amex. Fortunately I had time to walk down to town and change money and pay them in cash. They try to exploit you on airport transfers which is silly as price discovery is so easy
“Unexpectedly Delightful”
The grounds are superior to nearly every place I have ever been. It is truly a hidden gem in Luong Prabang. I enjoyed the room, large, and with great AC. The breakfast was excellent and and had a ton of choices. I also must compliment the staff. Each and every person were helpful and wanted to make me as the customer happy. Every interaction was positive.
The "walk up" to the reception area is a bit dodgy, more of the neighbors than the property itself. But once you leave the reception area, omg, the place is quiet and serene.
