“Für einen Kurzaufenthalt ganz in Ordnung”
Saubere und gemütliche Wohnung, ideal um 1-2 Nächte in Reykjavik zu verweilen. Selbständiger und unkomplizierter check-in. Sehr feines Kaffee gleich daneben. Gut ausgestattete Küche, wir haben dort gemütlich das Frühstück & Abendessen vorgenommen.
- Das Bettsofa knirschte immer, sobald die Liegeseite gewechselt wurde und die Matratze ist nicht so bequem, aber das ist Geschmackssache. - Die Regendusche konnten wir nicht benutzen, da defekt. Das Wasser spritzte in alle Richtungen. - Zu wenig Handtücher (1 für 3 Personen), aber im Wäscheraum können mehr geholt werden. - Ja, es hat Parkplätze vor dem Haus, die waren jedoch meist besetzt und wir mussten dann oft etwas weiter weg parkieren. -Check-out sehr früh um 10 Uhr morgens. Das hatten wir sonst niergendwo auf unserer Reise.
“Bright and cozy apartment in a great location”
We loved this one-bedroom apartment. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was a great asset when the weather wasn't cooperating or we just wanted a break from eating out (very expensive to eat out in Iceland!). The "Bonus" grocery store is very close to the building, which was convenient for grabbing snacks and drinks for our day trips. Next door to the hotel is Reykjavik Roasters, a nice little coffee shop to grab breakfast and java. We only had a car rental for one night and were able to easily find free parking on a side street. That said, we were travelling during low season. As for noise level, the hotel is far enough from the busy area to be quiet at night, yet shopping and attractions were still within walking distance (15-30 mins). We would absolutely stay here again.
Yes, the water smells like sulfur. Who cares. You're in Iceland, enjoy it :)
“The only place we stayed in Iceland that I would not return to”
It was clean, and the location was reasonably good.
The apartment was disappointing and looked better in the photos than it did in reality. We stayed there for just one night, the last night of our 14-day trip around Iceland and of the seven places we stayed, this was by far the weakest. It was not terrible, but by then we had grown accustomed to a much better standard. The kitchen was large but lacked some basic utensils that would only cost a few euros. There were not enough conveniently located power sockets for charging phones, the table for four was squeezed into a cramped bay window, and the kitchen drawers were poorly designed. Apart from four tea bags and four capsules of very poor-quality coffee, nothing was provided. This may not matter if you plan to eat out, but every other place we stayed provided at least salt, pepper, sugar and similar basics.
