Our unit was sheltered from the prevailing West East and most of the rain that we get in the Northland winter In fact every time we have stayed here I have taken a good book and glass of wine up into the sun trap above the office and managed to get a tan Motel is a slow 10 minute walk from the town centre There is a small bar restaurant at the end of our drive I particularly enjoyed the early morning walk along the deserted beach to the Waitangi Bridge and back
On our previous day I tried to talk John the owner to installing a hot tub I would happily pay extra for something like that
