βNot Disabled Friendly.β
Nothing. I liked the fact that it was supposed to be disabled friendly but it wasn't.
I am a wheelchair user and informed the hotel months before arrival. There were two lifts and one of out of order completely. We were on the 7th floor so that lift was my lifeline in and out of the hotel. We got stuck in the tiny lift and were between two floors. We couldn't get their attention either by phone or by pressing the alarm bells. There wasn't an intercom and it took us an hour to get them on the phone and then the lady thought it was funny that a disabled man and two others were stuck in the lift. I was in agony and they ended up having to get the fire brigade to rescue us. They managed to force the lift down to reception. I can literally only walk a few yards and I had to climb 7 floors of stairs which literally nearly killed me. I'm only saying this because I don't want it to happen to someone else. It advertises itself as a disabled friendly hotel but from my experience that can't be guaranteed. You may find yourself climbing multiple flights of stairs or get stuck in a lift. Having only one working lift in a supposedly disabled friendly hotel. There is also a very steep slope to get to the disabled exit via the car park garage. Nobody in a manual wheelchair would be able to make it up on their own. Also the USB wall sockets didn't work at all and the other sockets kept spitting the plugs back out which was annoying and dangerous. The bathroom floor was extremely slippy even when dry and even for a none disabled person. I had to be extremely careful not to slip over in the shower. The isn't smart so I had to take a laptop with a selection of things to watch and connect it using a (long) hdmi cable. I wish I could think of something good to say about the hotel but I'm struggling to think of anything positive. Being stuck in that lift whilst I was in great pain was a horrible experience which very nearly ruined our entire holiday.
