A stunning hotel in the heart of the Medina, yet incredibly peaceful and quiet as soon as you step inside. The architecture beautifully combines modern Tunisian design with tradition, and every detail feels carefully considered. The scent of orange blossom and jasmine when you enter is wonderful and immediately creates a very special atmosphere. I stayed in a Junior Suite and absolutely loved it. The interiors are beautifully curated, from the furniture and decorative details to the books about Tunis in the room. Everything felt elegant, authentic and impeccably clean. The manager was excellent. My room was ready about 20 minutes later than expected, and as a gesture of hospitality, I was offered a complimentary spa massage and fresh fruit was brought to my room. A small delay turned into a wonderful example of exceptional service. The rooftop is beautiful, and Dar El Jeld restaurant is a real gem, with a gorgeous setting and excellent Tunisian cuisine. A truly special hotel, full of character and attention to detail, right in the heart of the Medina.
The only reason I wouldn’t give a perfect 10 is a few small details that, at a 5-star hotel, can make a difference. I arrived before check-in time, and while I completely understand that my room was not expected to be ready yet, the welcome from the two receptionists that morning could have been a little warmer. I was simply directed to the rooftop, whereas a more welcoming approach — perhaps offering a refreshing drink while waiting — would have felt more in line with a 5-star experience. That said, the manager was absolutely impeccable and later handled the slight delay with exceptional care, offering me a complimentary massage and sending fresh fruit to my room. The spa experience was pleasant, although I felt the massage itself could be more refined for a spa at this level. As it was kindly offered complimentary, I very much appreciated the gesture. These are only small details in an otherwise wonderful stay, but they are the little touches that make the difference between a very good experience and a perfect one.
